Counting on a Cowboy by Debra Clopton

Running from a past that haunts her, Abby Knightly is drawn to the cozy town of Wilshire Springs, Texas. Maybe this small town could offer hope and healing and a future for Abby…if she’s brave enough to reach out and take it by the reins.

Counting on a Cowboy was a very heart warming, tender, and sweet novel about a woman has endured a very tragic loss in which she lost her fiance and unborn child in a car accident.

Intending to start anew, she makes an impromptu move to Wilshire Springs, Texas. She meets Bo Monahan when she almost runs into one of his cattle. This meeting changes things for her as she has an immediate attraction to him and he also to her. She has sworn off loving again and fights her attraction to him. Things become more complicated when Bo finds out he is a father and is left to take care of the baby thus asking for Abby’s help. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel as subjects such as forgiveness and loss were repeatedly hit upon. I also loved how Bo and Abby built upon their friendship first before plunging into a relationship with one another. As always, the town of Wilshire Springs is enjoyable, heart-warming, and funny as all get out. I hope you enjoy this read as much as I did.
